Christmas is today, but a family in Louisiana cannot even be happy since someone lost their lives inside of a Foot Locker.
James Vaughn was just a customer inside of a Foot Locker in Oakwood Center Mall, located in New Orleans. When he saw the shoes he wanted, he had a goal in mind to get the shoes. But, things took a turn for the worse when he was shot and killed.
According to CBS News, Gary M François stood three to four feet away from Vaughn and began shooting at him.
The victim had just purchased something from Foot Locker and had turned from the cash register when a man walked to within three or four feet of him and began shooting, Normand said. No one else was injured.
“Obviously, based on witness accounts, he walked in with purpose of shooting this particular individual,” Normand said when asked if the victim was targeted.
The sheriff said at least three shots were fired and the man was pronounced dead on the scene.
After the shooting occurred, everyone started running and going crazy, although officers tried to make sure everyone was calm and that no one was injured.
François is currently in custody and if he committed the crime, he would be charged with second degree murder.
