For a long time now, Devon Still’s daughter, Leah, has been fighting a long battle. However, she is a soldier and now she and her father will be honored for her bravery and fight in this battle.
Both Devon and Leah will be honored at the 2015 ESPY’s for the Jimmy V Perseverance Awards. Leah’s longtime battle with Stage 4 neuroblastoma, or pediatric cancer, has been a long journey. However, her bravery and battling against the life-threatening disease, as well as recent complications due to stem cell transplants, she is still fighting, as well as someone that is an inspiration to many.
However, the Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle reported of her doing just fine and making “little progress.”
According to ESPN.com ESPYS executive producer Maura Mandt had this to say:
“This award is a testament to the inspiration Devon and Leah are to all the families who are suffering from similar circumstances,” Mandt said. “It is our hope that with this award we can send them more strength as they face this latest challenge.”
Thoughts and prayers are going out to Leah and the Still family so she can recover and get better. #LeahStrong #PrayForLeah
