Hello, my loves!
I haven’t been writing that much because of many things, including work. However, I will say that I missed talking to y’all. (Yes, I said Y’ALL.)
Anywho, onto today’s topic: settling.
It is quite interesting how many of us will settle for something, even if it is less than what we deserve. Now, I say this because a lot of times, especially for some women, we settle because there is nothing else out there, at least not at the time we want that particular thing. Should we do this? HELL NO. Why settle for something that isn’t even a worth of your time?
When I talk about settling, I’m not discussing settling on a relationship level. I’m not an expert on that. I mean settling in life for a job/career, a lifestyle, life in general, etc. I knoooow, it is easier said than done. But, you shouldn’t give yourself to something that isn’t meant for you because what is the point in giving up if you aren’t going to try? You shouldn’t have to settle just because you want to make life easier for other people. Yes, you want to please that person because they will be ecstatic to know of how you did what THEY wanted you to do. However, remember DJ Khaled’s words on Snapchat: “THEY DON’T WANT YOU TO SUCCEED. THEY DON’T WANT YOU TO BE GREAT.” (Yes, through some of the goofiest things he post, there is some posts that he makes that is made to inspire us all) Settling doesn’t make things better. It just makes you just give up because of how someone else don’t want you to live your own life.
Yes, settling sounds like an amazing thing to do…NOT. When you give up, someone else is going to take what is meant to be yours. That means everything you’ve worked hard for is going to go down the drain. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. You don’t deserve the life that is going to make you miserable. Happiness is the key to great things in life, as well as hard work and a lot of other things.
Point is this: Don’t settle for something that isn’t meant for you.
OK, now going to stuff my face with some food.
